I just want the leadership's pods because they are the ones who throw the n00bs out there to be a buffer for themselves. If I actually can get a fight out the uni in a said 10 vs 1 fight I can never get to the leaders because they disengage after they realize they can't hurt me and have lost a few tackles.

The majority of new players to Eve are grown adults not babies that need fed and dirty nappies changed when full of poop & pee.

On the flip side of the arguement, to those that are not "mindless sheep in need of a shepherd", learning Eve isnt a safe haven with rainbows and ponies is still a fundemental appeal that retains players not loses them.

All I see here is a Shepherd bleating that she is unable to protect her precious wee sheep from the wolves.

I just got this game a few days ago and my brother told me Eve U was the way to go to learn everything i needed to learn. I moved to Aldrat, did my application and made sure all my security and everything was in order for them.

They rejected my application. They told me it was because they didn't like my name. It hurt really bad. I actually chose my real first name for Eve. I've been living with that name my whole life, you think I've never been teased. That doesn't make it right for people to just reject you based on it.

Now I see that other people have had problems with Eve U. I was hoping to find a university like a great inclusive school that welcomes all, like the University of California.

Instead, I was rejected by an elitist mindset that would be at home in Harvard or Princeton. I really don't know what I am going to do next in this game, but it hurts to have been told that I am not good enough.

I see now that the University has faced many months of war, and maybe thats the reason they were so mean to me. Maybe their nerves are frayed in these tough times. Maybe I can understand and that makes me feel better about the whole thing.

I noticed a lot of people on here are from a corporation called U Mad. I'm not mad about my rejection, but I am saddened. In any event, I recognize a lot of names on here from Aldrat local, and I hope to see you guys in game soon, both Eve U and non Eve U people.

I want to apologize. I may be new but I can see that all this has nothing to do with me and I shouldn't have butted in. I hope to see everyone involved (Eve U, UMad and everyone else) in Aldrat and be able to play with all of you guys. I really am enjoying Eve so far.

See it's that distinction that I feel your confused on. E-Uni and ourselves accept people that are clueless about PvP when they join us. We don't pride ourselves on being good/bad/indifferent as an organisation as a whole. If you feel the need to gank newbies and establish yourself as being better than them I don't really know where that leaves you.

It also makes it even more fun should you choose to dock up and not engage :).

Total newb question here. If you guys start a huge battle in Aldrat and I want to come out and watch it in my ship and I'm not in eve U or rvb or umad, I can't get damages or hit by the explosions and missiles etc from the battle right?

Because these wars sound pretty awesome and definitely something I want to see in person!

Big battles imply MAD won't be station hugging and docking up when things get hot.

I've come to understand that the people declaring war on Eve U are viewed as Eve's bad guys.

I'm not saying I know enough to know whats right (because I sure as heck don't) but I have observed one thing . . .

In my 5 days of playing Eve these 'bad guys' are the only ones who have been nice to me, in game or on these forums. Maybe they're catching flies with honey and plan on robbing my ships or the like, but everyone else on Eve has treated me like trash.

When my bro told me I should get this game he also said that in Eve you really can't tell who's good and who's bad. Boy was he right.

I'd be interested to see who comes under the 'corps like them', I hope you're not implicating RvB in a closed door policy . Your 'there for the public' line did make me laugh though, kudos.

So everyone understands correctly, "ACTUAL PvP" in this case = ganking noobs who are flying around solo in industrial ships, then shitting your pants and docking up when those noobs form a fleet which is tactically superior to your own (aka "blob").

The Team Liquid war, along with the U-MAD war and the other occasional ones, are both good examples of wars which can be entirely negated simply by paying attention and taking simple precautions, like using our intel channels, making hauler alts, and not auto-piloting between trade hubs in an Orca.

For anyone wondering, "Management is aware of this loss" is what typically gets posted on our killfeed to stop everyone simply piling in with comments on dumb losses, before we can make sure the person who had the loss understands why it was stupid or avoidable.

1. An entity in low sec doesn't like their game play being disrupted...

3. Obviously EvE University was not playing by the set of rules and mechanics expected of the low sec entities..
